Name: sherrybell
Gender: Female

Interests: My greatest love is for learning more and more through God's word. It is an inexhaustable resource! No matter how much I think I know, He always has something new to teach me. I am a singer with a strong desire to be a "musician". Consequently I am studying electric bass and making attempts at percussion (tamborine, claves, shakers of various sorts and hand drums). I am also toying with piano again. I am fascinated by the idea of raising milk goats. (I estimate 3 years to sell Ken on the idea.) I've recently discovered a passion for science, especially chemistry. I am becoming more and more an advocate for the traditional family and for homeschoolers and parental rights.
Expertise: I am an expert in whatever topic I am currently researching. Right now it's goats. Ask me about goats.
Occupation: Education/training

Oy...posting so xanga doesn't delete me.

Saturday, September 23, 2006

Greetings all my faithful internetherworld friends.

In order to keep my life smooth and simple and consistant and all that, I am going to say goodbye to my "Sherrybell" persona and go by my more common name, "groovyoldlady". You can call me Groovy for short.

Come over to my new Xanga if ya want to visit. This one will be up until I transfer all the better entries to my hard drive, then I'll be shutting her down.

My new Xanga site is HERE .

See ya there!

22 year-old veteran Tim Foshay did, indeed, die in a car crash this past Wednesday evening. You can read about him HERE .

Please join me in praying for God's richest comfort and peace to be on Bob and Ann and their remaining children.

OK, so I got confused.

On the 19th I kept going around saying, "Squawk! Sherry want a cracker!!"

Only later did I realize it was "Talk like Pirate Day" and not "Talk like a Parrot Day".

Silly me.

The retreat was absolutely wonderful. I put the final touches on my workshop material 8pm the night before I left. Viva procrastination! Even so, I didn't feel one iota of stress the entire weekend. I was SO relaxed. It was like God had orchestrated the whole 3 days just for my rest and replenishing. The workshop went so well both times. The women who came were blessed and I was doubly blessed. God was (and IS) so good!

What did I learn? That God is in control and that He does the job a whole lot better if I just get out of the way and let HIM work in other people's hearts. So I can stop trying to make other folks do what I think is best and just lift them up to Him...God'll take care of them. It is SUCH a freeing truth!

I got to stop at a lovely restaurant in New Hampshire on my way home from the retreat. The decor was beautiful, the service was outstanding, the food was terrific, and the prices were reasonable. They had a quaint little antique store upstairs and a luncheon counter for take-out in the next room.

I can't for the life of me remember the name of the place or which town it's located in. I guess I was TOO relaxed!

They served us THE most incredible lemon poppyseed bread, coffee cake, and pumpkin bread as an appetiser. I wanted to eat it all, but I was a good girl and shared nicely with my 3 companions. I even cut the breads up neatly so we'd all get equal amounts. Good Sherrybell.

Then the crumbs called, "We're still in here. Yummy, scrumptious crumbs, all alone in the bottom of this pretty basket." Everyone was talking, but my mind started to go fuzzy. I couldn't concentrate. I just kept hearing the crumbs. They were calling me. They NEEDED me.

Suddenly I grabbed the basket from the middle of the table and dumped it upside down on my plate and started scarfing them down like a madwoman. My friends immediately stopped chatting and stared. I looked up at them, drool hanging delicately from my ladylike lips. "What?" I demanded, "You want some too?"

Tomorrow is the hallowed and sacred "Talk Like a Pirate Day". If you are ill-versed in pirate lingo, you can go HERE for lessons.

OK, enough stalling. I need to go work on my affiliate "stuff". Please pray that my brain doesn't explode...
